The first visit as a new patient to any dental office is always the most challenging. You wonder if you will like the people there if the place is warm, inviting, clean, and safe. We understand new patients' apprehension when they walk through the door, and we do all we can to alleviate it. As one of its major goals, Seminole Dentistry wants to help all patients feel welcome and comfortable from the first visit onward.

Paperwork and Medical History

You will be asked to complete some paperwork, including a medical history form. Be prepared to provide information about your medications, allergies, and previous dental treatments.

X-rays

To get a complete view of your dental health, the dentist may take X-rays of your teeth. X-rays help identify any issues not visible during the visual examination, such as cavities, bone loss, or impacted teeth.

Dental Examination

The dentist will examine your mouth, teeth, and gums for signs of any problems. They will check for tooth decay, gum disease, bite issues, oral cancer, and other oral health concerns. They may use dental instruments to measure the health of your gums and check for any abnormalities.

Treatment Planning

The dentist will discuss the findings with you if any dental issues are detected during the examination. They will explain the recommended treatment options, including any necessary follow-up appointments. They may also discuss cosmetic dentistry options if you express an interest in improving the appearance of your teeth.

Questions and Concerns

This is a good time to ask questions or express any concerns about your oral health. The dental team will happily provide answers and address any issues you raise.

Walk Out

Patients are walked out to our front desk receptionist for scheduling and settling any balances due for the day. The front desk team will help you get scheduled for your cleaning with our dental hygienist and any treatment recommended by the dentist.

Remember, the first dental visit lets the dentist know you and your oral health needs. It's important, to be honest about your dental history and any concerns you may have. This will help the dental team provide personalized care and develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
